Successful Completion of ‘Meet the Aspiring Students’ Program of Sociology
We are very pleased to share with you that the Department of Sociology and Anthropology has successfully organized the “Meet the Aspiring Students”program on October 13, 2021, at 3:00 PM that was broadcasted ‘Live’ through FaceBook’ platform. The respected Chairperson of the department, Dr. Abul Hossain, Registrar(Acting) of the GUB, Md. Saiful Islam, Deputy Registrar (Admission), Mr. Majharul Islam, Deputy Director (Accounts and Finance), Md. Khorsed Alam, and Md Samiul Islam, Asst. Professor of the department were the key discussant in the event. Mr. Ahsan Habib, Asst. Professor, Dept. of Sociology & Anthropology facilitated the event through the ‘StreamYard’ platform. The event was targeted especially for the aspiring students and their guardians who are to be acknowledged on various aspects of the department and about the university as a whole.
The respected Chairperson shared his opinions and experience regarding different academic and non-academic issues, which encouraged the students to get admission into the university. Md. Saiful Islam, Registrar(Acting) of GUB, discussed the importance of studying sociology and its benefits at the present time by clarifying various opportunities of this subject. Md. Mazharul Islam Deputy Registrar (Admission) enlightened the audience by clarifying admission issues, tuition fees, and waiver system. Md. Samiul Islam Asst. Professor of the department focused his discussion on the various aspects of the curriculum and exam system of BSS in the Sociology program. Md. Khosed ALam, Deputy Director of accounts and finance, discussed how students can submit their semester fees in a very simple way during the pandemic time. On behalf of the student’s community, a second-semester student Rahid Khan also shared his experience, focusing on how quickly he was socialized and embedded with the mainstream of the department through the cordial support from the senior students along with the faculty members.
At the end, there was a question-answer that was truly interactive. Our Sociology family warmly thanks the GUB Admission Office and other stakeholders for helping us in our endeavor.
