Nuzhat Nowsin Sharno
I am, Nuzhat Nowshin Sharno, a proud alumna of the Green University of Bangladesh. I completed my graduation from the Department of Sociology and Anthropology of GUB. Currently, I am employed at NRC (Norwegian Refugee Council) and contributing to the ACAPS (Assessment Capacities Project) project. ACAPS works to provide independent, ground-breaking humanitarian analysis to help crisis responders better understand how to address the world’s disasters. Besides that, I also got the offer to attend the master’s program in Sociology at Bielefeld University, Germany, a restricted master’s program, and very few international students get the opportunity to participate in it.
GUB has enabled me to develop a strong foundation for my early career growth and supported me in pursuing my vision. I am grateful to all the respected professors of the Department of Sociology and Anthropology of GUB, who assisted and guided me throughout my academic years.
The time I spent in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology of GUB is the most significant and consequential part of my career, as this experience has given me the confidence and possibility to achieve my future goals. Where I am today is because of my root in the Sociology and Anthropology Department of GUB.

Asinur Reza

This is Asinur Reza, a Green University alumnus. I was one of the inaugurated batches of students at the Department of Sociology and Anthropology, and I completed my graduation in Anthropology in 2012 and post-graduation in the following year.
After completing my university education, I developed my career in the development sector with passion and curiosity towards understanding social dynamics and development processes. I have 9+ years of cross-sectional expertise in research and intervention with several national and international development organizations, including The Asia Foundation, Management Systems International (MSI), CARE Bangladesh, Dnet, and BRAC. My field of interest and expertise include democratic governance and human rights, safe migration, combatting trafficking in person, countering/preventing violent extremism (C/PVE) and social cohesion, etc. Besides Bangladesh, I was also engaged in several research and policy discussions with state and non-state stakeholders in India, Nepal, and the Maldives.
Currently, I am working with The Asia Foundation as a Senior Program Officer with its South Asia Governance Program (SAGP) – a regional initiative that works across five countries in South Asian countries (Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, and Sri Lanka) intending to create a free and open South Asia region through expanded support to projects that strengthen civil society and improve overall governance areas in these five countries.
I am grateful to my faculties at Green University, who sowed dreams in my eyes and decorated me with a solid foundation of knowledge, which always guided me to foster my destination. My heartful wishes for the department and the University, and I firmly believe they will continue to change our world.
